Luxury hotel rating 2017: 7 hotels included in AAA Five Diamond List, from New York to Hawaii

Seven new properties have joined AAA’s Five Diamond List for 2017, an exclusive group that represents the upper echelons of hotel and dining luxury

It is a prestigious honour to be admitted to the AAA Diamond List. To become admitted to the club, hotels and restaurants must pass anonymous inspections conducted by AAA experts.Ā Here’s a look at the new Five DiamondĀ honoreesĀ and what the inspectors had to say about them:

TheĀ Modern,Ā New York
Cuisine at this Michelin-starred restaurant at the Museum of Modern Art is described as sublime, cosmopolitan and relaxed. Inspectors have high praise for theĀ sautĆ©ed foieĀ gras, lobster steamed in spinach, bone marrow-crusted beef andĀ Long IslandĀ duck.

Four Seasons ResortĀ Lana’I,Ā Lanai City, Hawaii
Guests are treated to panoramic views of the ocean atop ruggedĀ ruggedĀ lava cliffs and white sand beaches, with dĆ©cor that integrates HawaiianĀ esthetics.
