Using the camera of a mobile device, users of the easyJet app simply take a photo of their passport ID page showing their name and details, eliminating the need to fill out a long electronic form before downloading a boarding pass.
Travelers can use the feature to check in easily and securely from a smartphone until two hours before takeoff from 110 European airports.
United Airlines added a passport-scanning feature to its mobile app this summer. Over 10 million people have downloaded the easyJet mobile app.
