In honor of the upcoming nuptials of Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock, two iconic French pastry houses have created special, limited-edition desserts.
Ladurée launched a special box-set of eight macarons, light, airy almond meringue cookies that come in guava and raspberry-aniseed flavors.
The guava macaron is perfumed with pink guava from South Africa, while the raspberry cookie has a hint of aniseed.
The ivory and gold box set comes with eight macarons, and is engraved with the couple’s first names. It is available at all boutiques and retails for €15.60.
Fauchon has also launched a limited edition mini éclair as a tribute to the couple, decorated after the Grimaldi coat of arms in red and white checkers.
The éclairs are made with Bourbon vanilla and Carros strawberries, flavored with a splash of rosewater.
They will make their debut July 1 and be made available exclusively at Fauchon stores in Monaco between July 2 and July 31, as well as their Paris store on 24 Place de la Madeleine between July 1 and July 2. Each éclair will sell for €3.50.
