Beats by Dr. Dre is introducing its first speaker since a July 2014 Apple acquisition by way of the Beats Pill+.
The portable, bluetooth connected, $229 Beats Pill+ steps forward on three fronts: sound, design, and power management.
It’s slightly larger than the original Beats Pill, says the company, with a durable desing and buttons moved to the top of the speaker, and a 12-hour battery that has a 3 hour charge to full time.
Accompanying it is a Beats Pill+ app on both iOS and Android that lets two different devices pair to the same Pill+ speaker, for shared DJing dutues, or two speakers pair to the same bluetooth device for more pronounced stereo output.
November will see the Beats Pill+ go to retail via Apple.com and authorized Beats resellers.
