The Paris-based tea salon, which has outlets across Europe, Asia and the US selling its coveted pastel-colored macarons, decided to honor its landmark birthday by partnering with Japanese creator Chisato.
The designer’s trademark colorful style is seen in the packaging she designed for the cherry-blossom-themed set, scheduled to go on sale March 1.
WWD reports February 8 that the designer worked alongside French chef Vincent Lemains on the conception of the pink cherry-blossom-flavored macarons, while a candle inspired by the flower has also been created to accompany the set.
Ladurée, which recently launched its first Les Merveilleuses de Ladurée (The Wonders of Ladurée) makeup line in Japan before its international release later in the year, is famed for its prestigious fashion connections.
Fashion houses including John Galliano, Christian Louboutin and Marni have designed limited edition sets for the company in the past.
Last September, British designer Matthew Williamson applied his signature graphic prints to a selection of limited edition boxes in honor of the Fashion Week season.
