Dutch supermodel Saskia de Brauw has been chosen by Saint Laurent as the star of the brand’s latest menswear campaign, titled “The Saint Laurent Boy is a Girl.”
Fashion certainly got used to a certain amount of androgyny from Hedi Slimane in his previous position at Dior Homme, where the designer was famed for regularly sending out runways packed with skinny silhouettes on rather waif-like boys.
So it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise that the face of the latest print menswear campaign from Saint Laurent features a woman wearing the trousers.
Dutch supermodel, artist and Chanel muse Saskia de Brauw donned the clothes and Slimane himself picked up the camera to shoot the campaign.
Produced in in Los Angeles, where Hedi has been based since 2007, de Brauw went makeup free, her hair cut into a shaggy bowl and wore a selection of clothes from the Spring 2013 menswear collection.
The collection is available to preorder on the Saint Laurent site now, and goes on sale in stores in January 2013.
