Victoria Beckham Spring 2012

British brands including Victoria Beckham, Alexander McQueen and Mulberry were winners at the Walpole Awards in London on Monday, November 14.

Beckham, whose eponymous dress collection debuted at New York Fashion Week in 2008, received the Emerging British Luxury Brand gong.

Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen took the British Luxury Design Talent prize, and Mulberry was honored in the British Luxury Overseas category.

Other winners included Mr Porter. The website offers high-end designer menswear shipped across the globe, and was hailed best British Luxury Brand Online.

Shoemaker Church’s English Shoes, which was founded in 1873 and exports across Europe and the US, received the Best British Craftsmanship prize.

Organized by British luxury organization Walpole in association with Coutts, the Walpole Awards are now in their tenth year.

The awards credit brands exemplifying excellence in design and craftsmanship both in Britain and internationally, and are a precursor to the British Fashion Awards.

Taking place at the London Fashion Week Headquarters and hosted by the British Fashion Council, the British Fashion Awards 2011 will take place on November 28.

Beckham could scoop another prize, as she’s nominated in the Designer Brand category along with Stella McCartney, Tom Ford and Burberry.
