Eiffel Tower restaurant celebrates 30th anniversary

Alain Ducasse has created a special nine-course menu to fete the 30th anniversary of his restaurant Le Jules Verne at the Eiffel Tower.

French chef Alain Ducasse has created a 9-course menu to fete the 30th anniversary of his restaurant Le Jules Verne at the Eiffel Tower, with each course paying homage to his restaurantā€™s namesake.

On Thursday, January 30,Ā Le Jules VerneĀ will host an anniversary dinner that will take guests on a culinary journey through Vernesā€™ literary works.Ā Dinner is a cool ā‚¬550 a person.

A starter of sea urchin, for instance, will be paired with a 1996 Dom Perignon to invoke ā€œTwenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.ā€

A dish of scallops, cauliflower, gold caviar and gelĆ©e will be served to represent ā€œThe Mysterious Island,ā€ while ā€œNorth against Southā€ will be plated using truffled Brie cheese from Meaux, served with an herb salad.Ā The restaurant is located on the second floor of the tower at 125 meters above ground.
