Organisers of the second edition of Hainan Rendez-Vous, Asia’s first and only private aviation lifestyle exhibition, announced today that some 250 of the region’s business elites will be flown by private jet to their April 1-4 show in Hainan, a tropical island that is fast developing into China’s version of the French Riviera.

Showcasing the worldā€™s finest private jets, Hainan Rendez-Vous 2011 provides an ideal communication platform for manufacturers and buyers of business aircraft.

It is the only Business-to-VIP-Customer aircraft exhibition in the whole of Asia, and the region’s only show where exhibiting private jet manufacturers actually fly in such a large number of show attendees from their city of origin and back.

In total the event, which also includes a yacht exhibit and luxury property and brands shows, is expected to draw some 8,000 high net worth individuals this year.

More than fifteen business jet manufacturers, leasing and charter companies have already signed up for Hainan Rendez-Vous.

Jets on display will include aircraft that can seat eight to twelve in boardroom comfort, such as the Hawker Beechcraft 900XP and 4000, the Embraer Legacy 650, the Dassault 900, and Bombardier’s Global Express and Challenger.

Larger jets such as the Embraer Lineage 1000, Gulfstream G550 and Dassault Falcon 7X will also be on the tarmac, not to mention the top notch Airbus ACJ and BBJ aircrafts, airliners that have been converted into private jets, and the presence of Eurocopter and Sikorsky helicopters.

A series of educational workshops and seminars on aviation-related topics will run concurrently with the exhibition at the Visun Marina.

Operators from all over the world, including Asia Jet, Boutsen Aviation, Gore Design, Ocean Sky,TAG Aviation and Universal Weather and Aviation Inc., have expressed interest in contributing to the program, which is now in planning.

On the national Chinese side Air China Business Jet, Chinese Business Aviation Group, China Eastern Business Aviation, China Private Aviation Company, Deerjet, Donghai Jet, Lily Jet and Ruo Hang General Aviation will share their insight and experience on operating flights.

What draws all these companies to exhibit at Hainan Rendez-Vous is of course the enormous potential of east Asia’s business aviation market, especially the vast China market, where recent developments point to increasing sales opportunities in the near term.

Flight approvals that once took seven days have been reduced to hours, tax rates have been lowered on new aircraft purchases, and low altitude airspace is being opened in designated trial areas to general aviation aircraft.

116 private jets are now registered in China, and in Hainan, a Shanghai-based firm began trial flights for its fleet of four helicopters just last month and is planning to build heliports throughout the island and offer flights to tourists by the end of the year.

This year Hainan Rendez-Vous and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) have announced that they will partner in the promotion of each otherā€™s upcoming events in the Asian region.

Specifically, NBAA will promote Hainan Rendez-Vous 2011 and China Rendez-Vous Limited will promote the 2012 Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE2012), scheduled for February 28ā€“March 1, 2012.
