Along with special events around the world, champagne lovers are invited to share photos, tasting notes, experiences and videos on social media sites using the hashtag #ChampagneDay. This year marks its fifth edition.

In addition to social media campaigns, hotels and restaurants around the world will also mark the occasion with special tasting events.
In Australia, the Sofitel Brisbane is holding a special five-course Champagne Day dinner that includes courses like scallops, green apple, almond and cauliflower, and Kingfish, fennel, barley and citrus nage paired with different Mumm champagnes.

And in the Netherlands, Spark The Hague will be hosting a champagne tasting and dinner at The Hilton hotel, featuring six rare bottles. The meal will be guided by a pair of champagne experts.
