French designer Eric Chevallier has released his latest couture furniture piece — a modular seat sold by length called ‘au mètre’.
Launched in collaboration with art gallery Domeau & Pérès, au mètre is composed of a spherical back rest sitting on a rectangular base. The contemporary seat features strong clean lines and has been fabricated from Divina virgin wool from Danish textiles house Kvadrat.
Au mètre can be made to measure with a length ranging from 79 to 300 cm and is available in six contemporary pastel shades. Each seat features a matte lacquered base coordinated to match the upholstery color.
A self-taught designer with an eye for voguish interior trends, Chevallier has seen his career skyrocket since getting his first job in sales for Paris design concept store Colette at 18 years old.
His rapid progression through the company eventually led to him realizing his own creations, and ‘au mètre’ is the latest of his luxury furniture pieces, following the launch of the bench ‘Saint Sulpice’ and the stool ‘Trio’.
‘Au mètre’ is available to order now from Domeau and Pérès, with prices starting from €1,200 (approximately $1,620).
