Converse debuts new Chuck Taylor All Star
One of America’s most iconic shoes, Converse’s Chuck Taylor All Star, is getting a make over.
Converse has revamped its classic shoe for the new Chuck Taylor All Star II, which keeps the original All Star’s silhouette and adds a few new details
The “Chuck II” features Nike Lunarlon technology in a sockliner intended to provide better cushioning and arch support, as well as a foam-padded collar and a perforated micro-suede liner for breathability.
The shoe’s trademark rubber toe cap is still there, joined by an embroidered All Star patch and monochrome matte eyelets.
Converse updated the shoe after following “creative spirits” — “joining them on tour, in concert halls and art studios, on sidewalks and at all-night parties” — with the result a mix of the shoe’s classic aesthetic and modern comfort solutions.
The Fall 2015 Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II launches on July 28 in black, white, red and blue for a suggested retail price of $70 (or $75 for the hi-top) at Converse stores, select retailers and Converse.com.
