BBC launches Fashion Bear for ‘Children in Need’
30 amongst the biggest names in fashion designed their own version of the iconic Pudsey Bear. The bears will be auctioned off for charity at Christie’s.
Famous brands including Louis Vuitton, Prada, Burberry, and Tom Ford have sprinkled some of their design magic on the humble stuffed animal, rebranding the famous ‘Pudsey’ teddy bear for a charity auction run by Christie’s of London.
The collection of megastar designers was brought together by LOVE editor Katie Grand to create a range of super stylish 28 inch tall bears (71 cm).
As part of an exclusive exhibition in the London & Manchester Selfridges Stores, the bears will be on display until 14 November 2012, when they go to auction to raise funds for the Children in Need charity.
Christie’s auction house will be taking bids for the different bears, and the winning bidders will be able to get their hands on their own piece of fashion history.
Children in Need currently supports around 2,600 projects and works with children facing a range of disadvantages including poverty and deprivation, child abuse and neglect, and young people with disabilities.
