A set of three X-rays of Marilyn Monroe‘s chest taken during a 1954 hospital visit have sold for $45,000 in Las Vegas.
The bizarre medical photograph was one of several of Monroe’s belongings that were up for bid at Planet Hollywood via Julien’s Auctions over the weekend.
The highlights of the sale had toured Ireland, Japan and China before finally going under the hammer.
Other Monroe items up for sale included a prompt book from unfinished film Something’s Got to Give and a bottle of Chanel perfume she owned.
The Monroe X-rays came from a 1954 visit by the actress to the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital. The actress died in August 1962 at the age of 36.
