Madonna has joined forces with Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana to showcase their spring/summer 2010 collection in the brand’s forthcoming ad campaign.

The adverts will be Sicilian-themed and were shot in Brooklyn, New York, by renowned fashion photographer Stephen Klein.

“To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true,” Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said in a statement.

“It seemed only fitting that Madonna, who embodies both the strong sensuality of the brand and who shares an Italian heritage with the designers should be the one to showcase the Sicilian inspired collection,” the duo remarked of their upcoming collection, which is said to heavily feature corsets.

Madonna first met Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce back in the early 90’s on the set of the movie Dick Tracey.

D&G designed the costumes for Madonna’s 1993 “The Girlie Show Tour” as well as last year’s “Sticky & Sweet” trek around the globe.

Amazingly, after a decade and a half of appearing in Dolce & Gabbana clothing, this is the first time Madonna has modelled in the label’s ad campaign.

Madonna has previously appeared in campaigns for Louis Vuitton, while her boyfriend Jesus Luz has also done campaigns for Dolce and Gabbana.
