Wonderful London

Simon Smith finds comparisons between the London of 1924 and 2014

May 21, 2014 | By Staff Writer

ā€œIn 1924, Harry B. Parkinson and Frank Miller documented London in a fantastic series of short films, known as “Wonderful London”. Over the last few months, I have stood in their foot-steps, recapturing their shots exactly, and have blended the two together creating a window through time.ā€ Simon Smith has captured the stark differences, and surprising similarities that linger between London of 1924 and London of 2014. Smithā€™s comparison of his recordings and that of Parkinson and Miller show the scary amount of progress that has been made, but quite hearteningly also highlights enough similarities which prove the old London culture still exists.Ā
