German Artist Markus Linnenbrink has constructed an intriguing optical illusion art installation that uses colourful patterns to disorientate its visitors. 

Its title, “WASSERSCHEIDE(DESIREALLPUTTOGETHER)”, aptly represents the bizarre nature of this interactive artwork. He invites the visitor walk through a “rainbow room” which is created using bold-coloured acrylic paints covered in epoxy on resin. This installation is actually a large-scale manifestation of his previous artworks that often explore line work and bold colours. Linnenbrink cleverly plays with lines, patterns and colours in order to tantalize the visitors perceptions. No different from his previous works, this installation creates a unique experience for the viewers being encapsulated by the artwork depending on their vantage point.  An intriguing element about his use of lines and color is also the dripping of paints that bleed into other lines, breaking the rigidity of the patterns. This imbues a sense of chaos in the atmosphere surrounding the viewers, adding yet another layer of intrigue to the work.
