Virgin Atlantic has launched a commercial art gallery at 35,000ft, allowing upper Class passengers the chance to view pieces by Ben Eine.
Virgin Atlantic has launched a commercial art gallery at 35,000ft, allowing upper Class passengers the chance to view pieces by Ben Eine.
The Gallery in the Air, that takes place during February, will see customers be able to buy the pieces, which are priced at between Ā£2,500 and Ā£15,000.
The paintings, billed as āstreet artā are available to view in person in the airlineās clubhouses in New Yorkās JFK, Newark airport and London Heathrow.
Passengers can then purchaseĀ Eineās works via the airlineās in-flight entertainment system. Special videos on the making of the artworks will be featured on the in-flight entertainment system.
The one-of-a-kind canvases will feature bubble letter designs showcasing Branson-like phrases such as “Virgin on the impossible” and “first century metropolis.”
The unique art-for-sale event follows Virgin Atlantic’s $160 million investment last year to upgrade the airline’s experience for upper-class passengers.Ā
