‘Etam Cru’ Makes Waves With Another Brilliant Mural
Changing the landscape of Eastern Europe one mural at a time.
The Polish duo ‘Etam Cru’ comprising of artists Sainer and Bezt have been changing the typically dull and grey facades of buildings and walls all over Eastern Europe with mind-blowingly fantastic murals. These murals commonly depict surrealistic images that portray mostly humerous themes, however many believe they carry along with it a deeper representation of current socio-political issues.
Etam Cru’s most recent work was done on the streets of Richmond for the local Richmond Mural Project. The piece showed a naked girl, sitting in a jar filled with unripe strawberry jam, accompanied with their familiar motifs like a rubber duck, little sparrow, skull symbol, in a simple but punchy composition. By using bright colors, the artists once again manage to get a great light and transparency effect, making the whole wall seem much softer, almost liquid. (Via Arrestedmotion)
