In true Roman savoire faire, Fendi announced its collaboration with Italian kitchen furnituremaker SCIC – a union between fashion and home design that resounded throughout the industry. Known for its fur and leather products, Fendi’s latest foray into home design comes as a shock, yet it is no wonder, when fashion houses of today attempt collaborations across industries on a regular basis.

The inaugural collection of FENDICUCINE was unveiled at Salone del Mobile 2018 in Milan, where attendees witnessed a luxury home design collection which embodied a Fendi DNA crossed with artisanal craftsmanship. Engineered by architect Marco Costanzi, two design features – Kurkum and Ginger – of distinct styles were revealed to the world that demonstrated both Fendi and SCIC’s flair for innovative and quality products.

The Guns: Kurkum

The Kurkum model sports a more “masculine” and professional style. Stainless steel came in different finishes for a more sophisticated look. Metal Gun profiles lend a unique colour to the stainless steel and ensure durability, while satin Peltrox countertop and doors fuse stainless steel inox with materic and vintage pewter colouring, along with Titaniox door accents to exude an elegance. The combination of materials conjure a technically polished and sophisticated image for the Kurkum model.

The Roses: Ginger

On the other hand, Ginger appears far more “feminine”, but never lacklustre. Calacatta Gold marble and Copper Bronze metal are building blocks of the calmer, more relaxed look of the Ginger model. Yet, the design is never sloppy; in fact, Ginger manages to balance both technicality and aestheticism in perfect harmony.

The materic marble appearance connects with the carved design of the kitchen island with the tilted design of the countertop, skirting, and handleless door. In addition, the marble doors and metallic profiles are customisable according to one’s needs, in finishings and colours of one’s choice.
