Italian pen makers Tibaldi have released a collection of pens for the Italian ship yard Riva.

The collection marks the first ever collaboration of these two iconic Italian brands: Riva, makers of  luxurious power boats and Tibaldi, Italy’s first fountain pen manufacturer.

All Tibaldi for Riva writing instruments are coated in exactly the same paint colours as Riva boats.

Made of a secret formula known only to Riva, these patented paints are designed for extreme durability.

Echoing the shape of the original Riva bitts (the posts fixed to the deck of a ship for fastening cables and ropes), the clip’s sophisticated spring mechanism lifts it easily away from the cap, enabling it to slide effortlessly when inserted into a pocket.

The barrel of the pen, handcrafted with inlaid wood, features the Tibaldi’s signature divine proportions based on the Fibonacci sequence which balances out the pen.

Further emphasizing their dedication to detail, Tibaldi has created a lavish case in which to store the Tibaldi for Riva collection, a fitting cool metal case, trimmed with the appropriate wood and lacquer corresponding to the writing instrument.

This limited edition Tibaldi for Riva collection is restricted to just 500 pieces of each color in both the fountain pen and the roller ball totalling 2,000 pens.

The collection is available in nautical colors – Roman Bronze fitted with rose gold plating and Navy Blue trimmed with palladium – with prices starting at $2,000.
