Not content with just selling stilettos, high-end shoe label Jimmy Choo is making its first foray into the fragrance industry.
Tamara Mellon, the founder and chief creative officer of Jimmy Choo, unveiled the new scent for women during a press event in London on October 22.
“I wanted to do a fragrance from the beginning of Jimmy Choo. I want to accessorize a woman completely.”
The fragrance — with top notes of pear nectar and sweet italian orange mixed with tiger orchid and Indonesian patchouli — was composed by perfumer Olivier Polge of International Flavors & Fragrances.
It was created by Inter Parfums, which also distributes Burberry, Lanvin and Paul Smith scents. It is simply titled Jimmy Choo.
The product will launch worldwide in Febuary 2011, along with a matching body lotion and shower gel. An eau de toilette version will also be available for sale in select global markets.
Price points are as follows for the Jimmy Choo Eau de parfum: ĆĀ£39 (40 ml), ĆĀ£49 (60 ml), and ĆĀ£68 (100 ml).
Jimmy Choo isn’t the sole footwear label to debut a signature scent. French shoemaker Roger Vivier unveiled five signature scents for women this past October.
The eau de toilette scents — iris, neroli, rose, sandalwood and amber — retail at 145 euros for 50 ml and are available at all Roger Vivier boutiques worldwide.
