Land Rover chose to combine a 3L SDV6 engine with an electric motor for a total power of 340 hp. The new model will be available in two versions: Range Rover Hybrid and Range Rover Sport Hybrid. Both have an average fuel consumption of 6.4L/100km, for CO2 emissions of 169g/km.
To show off the performance of its new SUV, Range Rover will retrace the famous Silk Road, taking 3 of the new vehicles on a 16,000-km journey to Mumbai for an expected arrival on October 15. The choice of this destination is significant, as Land Rover belongs to the Mumbai-based group Tata Motors.
The Range Rover Hybrid will have its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show, ahead of its commercial release early next year.
