Land Rover has unveiled a new Discovery XXV Special Edition to celebrate the 25th anniversary year of the original launch of its versatile family SUV.
The XXV will be finished in Causeway Grey, with a Narvik Black grille surround and mirror caps. It will also get full-length silver roof rails plus stainless steel tread plates. The car will sit on specially designed 20-inch five-split-spoke forged alloy wheels in a light polished-silver finish.
Inside, the car’s specifications will be based on the HSE Luxury model but will take things up a notch. This means lashings of Windsor leather, even on the instrument panel and steering wheel.
Prospective owners will also want to make sure that, no matter where this off-roader takes the family, when they get back in the car their feet are clean so as not to dirty the twist pile carpets.
Now in its fourth iteration, the Disco, as it is affectionately known, has been a huge success and has clocked up sales of over 1 million since 1989 when the first 3-door version rolled off the production line in the UK.
The Land Rover Discovery XXV will go on sale in limited numbers towards the end of 2014 and is expected to cost around €80,000 ($100,000).
