Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg Ā is developing a 1,400kg supercar equipped with a twin-turbo V8 engine of 1,400hp, giving the vehicle the phenomenal power-to-weight ratio behind its name, One:1.
The supercar will thus weigh only 1,400kg, even with a full gas tank and the driver on board. With 1,400hp, it will dethrone the current most powerful Koenigsegg, the Agera R, equipped with 1,140hp.
If the project is a success, the Koenigsegg One:1 will become the world’s fastest serial production car, regardless of the fact that the series will of course be rather limited.
The vehicle will boast a top speed of 450km/h and 0 to 400km/h acceleration in 20 seconds. To put this performance in perspective, the Veyron takes around 45 seconds to accelerate the same speed.
Koenigsegg did not provide any indication on the price of this automotive gem, of which only six will be produced. The initial prototype could be presented to the public as early as the end of 2013.
