Jaguar has joined the 300 km/h club with the unveiling of its most powerful car yet, the XKR-S.

Billed as the fastest and most powerful series production vehicle ever made by the brand, the XKR-S is expected to be available to order in September this year.

Offering a 5.0 liter V8 engine, Jaguar’s latest cub has been designed around its speed qualities with a dramatically redesigned front and a separate rear spoiler.

As Jaguar’s design director Ian Callum puts it, “if you don’t like the way it looks, you probably won’t like the way it drives either.”

Thanks to this modification, the XKR-S tops out at 300 km/h and can manage 0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds, all with a soundtrack which Jaguar describes as “motorsport-inspired aural feedback.”

It includes a refreshed interior, including 16-way adjustable heated sports seats with a memory function, designed to hold driver and passenger firmly in place during high-speed trips.

The XKR-S is one of a host of new and upgraded models being unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, which is open to the public March 3 – 13 in Geneva, Switzerland.
