Porsche unveils faster, more efficient Cayman
The new 2014 Porsche Cayman, unveiled at the 2012 Auto Show, is lighter, longer and wider, as well as more powerful and fuel-efficient.
The new-generation Cayman and Cayman S are already turning heads at the LA Auto Show: Porsche’s engineering wizards managed to make the speedsters faster than previous models while reducing fuel consumption.
The standard Cayman is propelled with a 2.7l engine with an output of 275hp, 0 to 100km/h acceleration in 5.4 seconds, and a top speed of 266km/h.
Its fuel consumption oscillates between 7.7 l/100 km and 8,2l/100 km depending on the type of transmission.
The Cayman S, with its 3.4l engine, delivers an output of 325hp, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds.
Its top speed clocks in at 283km/h, and its fuel consumption goes from 8.0l to 8.8l/100km depending on the type of transmission.
The Cayman will be available with a new Burmester sound system specifically designed for the new model. Clients can also add the Entry & Drive system for added convenience.
Both models will launch in Europe in March 2013. The Cayman and Cayman S’s respective starting prices are announced at ā¬52,527 and ā¬65,608.
