From now until 27 March 2023, the Italian luxury brand Bottega Veneta is having a pop-up at ION Orchard Singapore where pieces from the Maison’s Summer 2023 collection will be displayed. Designed with simplicity and intelligent construction, the space sets out to showcase Bottega Veneta’s craftsmanship and integrity of its signature accessories.

At first glance, the pop-up resembles a pavilion but with a twist — the set-up is soft to touch. Like many of Bottega Veneta’s signature bags like Cabat, Acro, Cassette and Jodie, the construction of the pop-up only used one singular material. Another unique feature of the pop-up is the texture of the upholstery, which calls to mind the Maison’s emblematic volcanic glaze. A type of material and finishing, the use of volcanic glaze can be observed in Bottega Veneta’s other outposts like its architectural elements and objects.

Attention to detail is at the heart of Bottega Veneta and the brands takes every opportunity to showcase its savoir faire. Even the most mundane objects found throughout the pop-up exemplifies the Maison’s meticulousness — many of them are hand-stitched.

While the range of accessories shown in the pop-up is a delight to admire, visitors to the pop-up will likely notice the clothes on display too. For this season, creative director Matthieu Blazy returned to the printed leather he introduced in his debut show. For his second collection, he added new leather items: plaid shirts. Do not be fooled by what the clothes seem to be as these are not in fact made from cotton or denim.
