Aman Resorts To Open Its Third Luxury Hotel In New York
Known for its exclusive and lavish resort experience, Aman Resorts is the go-to hotel chain frequent by the likes of Bill Gates and the Kardashians.
Come spring 2021, the vibrant city of New York will welcome new occupants and guests to its historic Crown Building as Aman Resorts opens its doors. The Crown Building, formerly housed the Museum of Modern Art, has undergone a transformation following the creative direction of renowned architect Jean-Michel Gathy, whose works include the rooftop and pool at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands. In addition to the 83 guest rooms and suites, Aman New York will be the first location in the US to include 22 private branded residences. Situated 26 storeys above the boutique street level, guests will have unparalleled views of the city’s skyline.
In Arabic, Aman means “peace” and true to its name, Aman Resorts has always been known for its luxurious wellness-oriented amenities across places located nature reserves and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Bringing the Aman experience to New York may seem contrary to its usual selections of places but in the hustle and bustle of a city that never sleeps like New York, we may actually need that moment of serenity to unwind and recharge ourselves.
Aman New York is equipped with a 2,300-square-metre Aman Spa where guests and Aman Club members can get to enjoy premium beauty treatments and personalised health and wellness programmes. Guests and club members can also utilise the 20-metre indoor swimming pool that is lined with daybeds surrounded by comfy fire pits — a rare experience in New York. Besides providing wellness facilities such as the Aman Fitness and a yoga studio that is fitted with state-of-the-art hydrotherapy facility saunas, steam rooms and ice fountains, guests can also make use of the lounging amenities such the Wine Library or take a stroll through the garden terrace that grants an uninterrupted sight of Central Park. The opulent hotel also has amazing dining options, whether is it an Italian cuisine that you crave or a traditional Japanese washoku — serving exquisite sushi and sashimi — there is even a jazz bar for you to unwind and enjoy the evening.
While Aman Resorts has yet to release the prices for its private residences, Bloomberg has reported in 2017 that one-bedroom with a single bathroom Aman residence will cost US$5.9 million while a five-bedroom approximately costs US$58.3 million.
Even if you aren’t planning on moving into Aman New York, staying at the hotel will be equally satisfying and given that many of us are feeling pent-up from the travel restrictions and with the vaccines at sight, begin the new year with some extravagant rejuvenation from one of the best hotel chains in the world.
