Michael Fux is one of Rolls-Royce’s favourite and most special clients, and it’s easy to see why.

At the Monterrey Car Show last month, the Cuban-American businessman drove off his twelfth bespoke Rolls-Royce – a stunning “Cullinan in Fux Orange”, playfully named after the bedding magnate himself.

It’s one thing to own a couple of, or even just one classic Rolls-Royce, but to own 12? That’s truly a feat, even for someone with a reported net worth of US$75 million like him.

This latest commission marks the tenth time that Rolls-Royce has developed and trademarked a colour carrying Fux’s name.

Working with the bespoke design and colour development team at the main UK hub of Rolls-Royce, Fux had told the designers that he wanted the exterior colour of the new car (based on the classic Cullinan SUV range) to match a vibrant orange ladies wrap that first caught his eye in South Florida.

Apparently, he then purchased the wrap and had it delivered to the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective. Both parties worked together for over a year, and the Rolls-Royce team was able to achieve the perfect surface finishing by applying more than seven layers of paint coat by hand for multiple hours in the Surface Finish Center. The end result also features black Cullinan wheels and pinstripe wheel centres in the bright “Fux Orange”.

The interior, is also a work of art. It is decked in hand-crafted “arctic white” leather with offsetting orange stitching and orange Rolls-Royce ‘RRs’ on the headrests. The same white shade is carried over to the luxurious box grain leather fascia, steering wheel control stems, and carpets. The designers also created an element of colour contrast with the “Fux Orange”-finished fascia veneer, rear-view mirror, and lambswool floor mats.

In the past, Fux had commissioned the UK luxury car manufacturer to create bespoke versions of classic Rolls-Royces in colours, including but not limited to: royal yellow, jade green, and fuchsia – complete with original names, of course.
