TAG Heuer Unveiled the first Aston Martin Special Edition Chronographs

Unveiled at the International Geneva Motor Show, taking place from March 8 to 18, 2018, the Swiss watchmaker collaborated with the Aston Martin design team to develop the designs for two chronographs, based on the colours, shapes, patterns and materials characteristic of Aston Martin’s sports cars. The two magnificent watches demonstrate the brand’s heritage and recall the automotive spirit that are very much alive.

TAG Heuer: Carrera Heuer 01 Aston Martin

Inspired by the geometric shapes specific to Aston Martin’s sports cars, and the technical, sporty TAG Heuer Formula 1 adopts Aston Martin Racing’s lime essence colour.

The first model is powered by a TAG Heuer automatic calibre Heuer 01 (Reference CAR2A1AB.FT6163), with water resistant up to 100 m. Framed within a 45mm solid steel case with special parallel lines pattern and ceramic black brushed tachymeter bezel, the Carrera Heuer 01 is completed with Aston Martin’s engraving Bevelled and domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment.

Additionally, the design for this edition features lines on the side to evoke speed, the race track and piston that is specifically developed to recall the details of the new vantage.

The black dial features a special honey comb pattern, black flange with 60 seconds scale, rhodium plated hour and minute hands and applied indexes with white superluminova®, all juxtaposed with the red lacquered central hand. Three counters, an angled date display and a rhodium-plated TAG Heuer applied logo are all part of the dial’s design.

On the side features steel push buttons at 2H and 4H as well as black steel rubber crown at 3H. Finally, the watch is fitted to the steel folding clasps with double safety push-buttons and TAG Heuer shield. Designed in an exclusive collaboration with Aston Martin, this is the first time TAG Heuer uses a leather strap in the TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection. The leather strap comes with special embossing that will surely add character and sporty style to the overall look of the timepiece.

TAG Heuer: Formula 1 Aston Martin

In another of the piece’s exclusive features the TAG Heuer Formula 1 chronograph, inspired by Aston Martin Racing, synonymous with performance and speed. This timepiece (reference CAZ101P.FC8245) features Quartz movements, framed within a 43mm steel case has aluminum and black matte tachymeter bezel with Aston Martin Racing lettering.

The dial features black gold plated polished hour and minute hands and indexes with grey superluminova®, all contrasted with a central hand and black flange with lime essence and grey 60 seconds scale. The design also has an angled date at 4 O’clock as well a grey TAG Heuer logo set on the black opalin dial. Water resistant up to 200m.

On the side shows the polished steel crown at 3H and push buttons at 2H and 4H. The steel screw-down case back has a special engraving that states “Aston Martin Special Edition.” The watch is attached to the brushed steel pin buckle and TAG Heuer shield on each side. This model comes with a magnificent black leather strap with lime essence stitching and special embossing.
