Eaudemoiselle and Dance with Givenchy will both become available this spring.

While both fragrances seem to be targeted at younger women, the advertising and packaging makes reference to the brand’s history.

Founder Hubert de Givenchy’s muse Audrey Hepburn was a ballet dancer, and Eaudemoiselle is meant to embody his aristocratic identity.

It is a popular strategy of luxury labels right now to revisit their roots in order to differentiate themselves.

Chanel, among others, has been a master of this strategy, connecting almost all its launches to its founder Coco and her inspirations.

Eaudemoiselle, the more ‘couture’ and complex of the two, will be rose-based with additional notes of mandarin, lemon, Japanese basil, ylang ylang, orange blossom, cedar wood, ambrette seed, tonka bean and musk.

Dance with Givenchy will be composed of partially the same elements, but with the addition of apple.

Both Givenchy scents will be priced at around Ć¢ā€šĀ¬60.

The brand’s new releases will precede a big fragrance launch by another French luxury brand: HermƃĀØs is planning for Voyage to hit stores from April.
