Richard Mille has congratulated its partner Manchester City for winning the Barclays Premier League 2013/14. This is Manchester City’s second win in three years, with victory all but secured as the team went into its final match of the season against West Ham. The team last won the Barclays Premier League two years ago in 2012 – its first title in 44 years.
Richard Mille has several partnerships with members of the sporting elite, including current world No. 1 tennis player Rafael Nadal and World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb, and has been Manchester City’s Official Timing Partner since 2012. Beyond this, the two parties have worked together on various charity programmes. Manchester City’s own charity ‘City in the Community’, for instance, recently received a substantial donation from the sale of a bespoke watch designed by Richard Mille. The donation funded the enterprise and skills programme ‘Enterprise City’ that targets primary school children, through which 1000 young people in the Manchester area will gain a qualification in Business & Enterprise in the next 18 months.
Manchester City’s Chief Business Officer Tom Glick has called the past season a ‘superb’ one, citing the team’s performance and how it has been fortunate to receive support from Richard Mille and its other partners, and said he was looking forward to the next season. Richard Mille’s CEO Peter Harrison echoed similar sentiments, and said that the brand is keen to continue supporting this successful partnership to hopefully inspire the brand’s customers in both Europe and the Middle East.
