Vintage Posters by Kazumasa Nagai
The Imaginative Posters of Kazumasa Nagai during the 60s and 70s
Graphic Designer Kazumasa Nagai is internationally known for his comic and vivid-colored poster designs in the 60s and 70s. At the age of 85, the artist is making a comeback with a large exhibition held this year featuring his 475 posters (which the artist remarks must have been double the amount) that he designed over his 57-year career. His vintage illustrations inspired Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake’s new line of clothing. Kazumasa has recently published a book titled ” Nagai Kazumasa Poster Life: 1957-2014” that is essentially a collection of his brilliant designs that were created entirely by hand. His works truly exemplify the innovation in old-fashioned media that cannot be found in this technological age.
