Banksy is Back

Two new murals by the famously elusive street artist pop up in the UK

Known for his wit and universally relatable observations about our socio-political climate, Banksy is back after completing his residency in New York. Two new murals have popped up around the UK that are believed to be by the famously elusive street artist. One piece in Cheltenham, ‘coincidentally’ home to the Government Communications Headquarters, depicts a trio of men around a telephone booth using recording devices to eavesdrop on conversations. The piece gives a nod to recent conversation about governmental intrusion into personal privacy. Another piece depicts a lovers embrace thwarted by lit mobile phone screens. It is a sight we see far too often on the streets and trains. The piece captures the sad truth that we have become slaves to technology and disconnected from our immediate reality.
