Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso One: Turning Heads

The new Reverso One collection shows off Jaeger-LeCoultre’s feminine touch with three new interpretations of the classic timepiece

The Reverso’s swivelling case was developed out of necessity – to protect its watch crystal in a game of polo – but this design has proven to be so versatile and timeless that the collection remains highly popular today, 85 years since its launch. New for this year is the Reverso One collection, which has been designed specifically with women in mind. The timepieces here have all taken a feminine slant, but in different ways to suit a variety of wearers.

The dainty Reverso One Réédition is the smallest entry at just 32.5mm X 16.3mm. Its petite dimensions are complemented by the understated design, which makes this the little black dress of the line-up – a versatile classic that works on its own, yet keeps the attention firmly on its wearer. The timepiece exhibits the distinctive design codes of the Reverso, but has been updated with more slender proportions to suit a lady’s wrist.

For a classy yet chic interpretation of the Reverso, there is the Reverso One Cordonnet.

The bimetal case is an exercise in contrast, which continues onto the dial with blued hands lending a dash of colour to the white dial and black hour indexes. Note the redesigned lugs, which allow the watch to literally have a playful touch – a leather cord strap with a steel folding clasp that’s inspired by a 1936 timepiece.

Rounding out the trio is the Reverso One Duetto Moon, which is available in pink gold or steel, with matching alligator straps or metal bracelets. On its front, the watch presents a simple time-only display on a silver-toned dial that’s decorated with a sunburst guilloché motif. Flip the case around, and the watch presents its more opulent side. A rich paillonné enamel dial is framed by two rows of diamonds, and bears a moon phase complication in addition to the time display.
