RALPH LAUREN put on a dreamlike show for his childrenswear Fall 2015 Polo collection in New York this week.
Central Park Zoo was transformed into a “Neverland” inspired, adventure-themed wonderland for the event, which saw “Pan” actor Levi Miller walking the runway as the fashion house’s new childrenswear ambassador.
Other rising stars on the catwalk included celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe’s son Skyler and “Dance Moms” sensations Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler.
Showcasing standout looks from the Fall 2015 Polo Ralph Lauren Children’s collection for girls and boys, the emphasis was on preppy American pieces such as herringbone blazers, relaxed sweaters, hoodies and cute beanie hats. Stripes, plaids, cozy layers and city-inspired silhouettes were all on show, with key pieces for boys including sporty styles like jogger pants and vintage-style baseball jackets, while feminine dresses, tartan and leather moto pieces are in vogue for the girls.
Miller made his debut in the Fall 2015 Polo Ralph Lauren Children’s campaign, which was inspired by the upcoming Warner Bros. movie “Pan,” based on the origins of Peter Pan’s life in Neverland.
The young actor was chosen for his “spirit of adventure and whimsy” and the campaign, shot by fashion photographer Matt Jones on the 1911 Peking ship in New York City, reflects this. It will be featured in advertising, window displays, in-store events and videos next season.
The show also honored the one-year anniversary of the Ralph Lauren Children’s Literacy program, which has seen 100,000 Scholastic books donated to Reach Out and Read in the US over the past 12 months.
